Chairman’s statement
We are a group of private investment holding companies with a legacy of innovation and leadership in the healthcare sector. It has been my privilege to serve as Chairman for the past few years.
Our goal is to adhere to the highest standards of ethical behaviour, corporate governance, tax and regulatory compliance and best practice in all that we do.
A sustainable business approach
Our strategic investment focus has shifted and expanded in recent years away from a predominant exposure to healthcare into a diversified global portfolio. This has been a long and intriguing journey and we are now embarking on a shared goal to bring our portfolio in line with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) considerations and sustainable investing guidelines. We are also very excited about our recent launch of a carbon footprint initiative that will link the whole portfolio to the 2-degree target of The Paris Agreement.
In recent years we have started to research and engage in impact investing while continuing our focus on ESG and sustainability. Our overall goal is to make financially sound investments that deliver a positive social or environmental outcome. We expect these three criteria – ESG considerations, sustainable and impact investing – to be the primary drivers of our investment decision making in the coming years.
At the core we are an investment holding group of companies. However, we firmly believe that we can also use those funds to make a positive impact on the planet and for many of its citizens who are less fortunate than ourselves.
